The Wine Country Word Newsletter Submission Guidelines


  • Writing for The Wine Country Word requires a few guidelines, so please read them before submitting. The best will be published in an upcoming newsletter. Here they are:

  • 1.Tell me a funny, sad or inspiring or unusual first-person story regarding life in the country. (Nothing political, ideological,religious or pornographic, and no fiction, please).
  1. 2. Your story must be original. 600-word limit. I will edit as needed.
  2. 3. Your story should have a beginning, a middle and an end.
  3. 4. No anonymous or "author unknown" stories.
  4. 5. You must give written permission to print in this newsletter if this is the first time your story has appeared in print. There's no time to pursue permissions from third parties.
  5. 6. Please submit all submissions to: www.winecountrywriter.com. If you don't have an internet connection, please submit your story typed on plain white 8 1/2" x 11" paper, in 14-point Times font. If sending by US Mail, please type the author's name and contact information on the top of each page of your story. Mailed submissions should be sent in a flat, 9x12 envelope if possible. Submissions with insufficient postage will be returned unopened.
  6. 7. Send only one copy of each submission.
